Australian Content: Free-to-air |
For nearly 30 years Australian content regulations have ensured broadcasters produce and screen a range of Australian programs. These policies recognise that Australian stories and faces deserve to be represented on our screens, and that Australian films and television programs are popular with local audiences. Regulations apply to the number of hours of locally produced content broadcast on free-to-air television, as well as quotas for drama, children's programming, documentaries and advertising. The AFC works actively with government and other industry partners to ensure Australian content standards continue to promote the production of Australian drama content.
