Background
MIPCOM is held in the Palais des Festivals, Cannes each year and runs for five days. It is a well-run market for film and TV for broadcast, where large corporations can do multi-million dollar world sales and small sales agents can do territory by territory sales.

The interest in Australian product is marked, with the biggest demand for telemovies and mini-series, children's programs and general interest documentaries.

Each year the Marketing Unit funds producers to attend MIPCOM and they write reports on their experiences. See their tips on how to prepare for and survive MIPCOM and MIPTV.

The AFC takes a stand at MIPCOM and facilities are provided on the same basis as at MIPTV. MIPCOM is most effective for producers with a range of television product for sale, including mini-series and documentary series. Whilst it is not as high-powered as MIPTV, it is still a market to discuss pre-sales.
