This fund supports new projects and publications related to screen culture activity in Australia. It is for projects that have either never existed previously or that have not been funded by the ICD Funding Program for more than three years.
The New Projects Fund aims to:
- provide seed funding for new initiatives that contribute to the further development, promotion and appreciation of the Australian screen industry
- encourage innovative projects that explore and harness the opportunities presented by advancements in digital technology
- foster practitioner development, debate and critical analysis
- encourage greater diversity in Australian screen culture.
Projects previously supported include: End Credits Film Club screening program in Cairns, The Canberra International Film Festival, the book 100 Greatest Films of Australian Cinema and The Moving Images of Tracey Moffatt, and the disability festival The Other Film Festival.
