About Screen Australia's Screen Business Venture Program (SBVP)

Screen Australia is committed to assisting screen producers create more viable screen businesses. The Screen Business Venture Program (SBVP) is an initiative that replaces the former AFC's General Development Investment (GDI) Program, and seeks to assist practitioners to grow or maintain sustainable businesses by providing a combination of loan funds and grants.

The SBVP has been established to accommodate the needs of a broad range of producers focused on demonstrable opportunities to grow their business or to consolidate and/or maintain production entities.

The program aims to support and develop existing businesses and to assist Australian screen companies to develop a strong presence in the global economy and to facilitate increased production of Australian programs. In order to do this, Screen Australia may provide a number of services such as the provision of advice, support, mentoring and training where appropriate and as required to help maximise business outcomes.

SBVP recipients may also apply for Screen Australia project development or production funding.

The Program is broken into two strands:

  • BUSINESS SUPPORT STRAND
