About Screen Australia's Screen Business Venture Program (SBVP)
Screen Australia is committed to assisting screen producers create more viable screen businesses. The Screen Business Venture Program (SBVP) is an initiative that replaces the former AFC's General Development Investment (GDI) Program, and seeks to assist practitioners to grow or maintain sustainable businesses by providing a combination of loan funds and grants.
The SBVP has been established to accommodate the needs of a broad range of producers focused on demonstrable opportunities to grow their business or to consolidate and/or maintain production entities.
The program aims to support and develop existing businesses and to assist Australian screen companies to develop a strong presence in the global economy and to facilitate increased production of Australian programs. In order to do this, Screen Australia may provide a number of services such as the provision of advice, support, mentoring and training where appropriate and as required to help maximise business outcomes.
SBVP recipients may also apply for Screen Australia project development or production funding.
The Program is broken into two strands:
- BUSINESS SUPPORT STRAND
- BUSINESS GROWTH STRAND.
ROLE OF THE BUSINESS INNOVATION MANAGER
The Business Innovation (BI) Manager will develop, implement, manage and administer the Screen Business Venture Program. The BI Manager will develop strategies to both support producers in preparing their applications and provide ongoing support to successful recipients. The BI Manager will maintain regular contact with funding recipients to monitor progress and provide strategic advice and assistance as required.

Business Growth Strand Expression of Interest - 25 July 2008 Application + Business Plan - 23 October 2008 Please note: an application form for the Business Growth Strand will be sent directly to applicants who have been deemed eligible once their Expression of Interest has been assessed.
