Commentators

Pip Bulbeck is a journalist and researcher specialising in the media, entertainment and communications industries. She is the Editorial Director of Acocia Press, publisher of Media Day and Digital Broadcast Australia.

Sandy George is a freelance researcher and journalist, and is Australian correspondent for the London-based magazine Screen International. She has a column in the New York-based Film Journal International and writes regularly for other overseas titles including Broadcast. She was editor of Australian film industry trade magazine Encore for the five years to March 1995.

Garry Maddox is the film writer for the Sydney Morning Herald. He has written numerous film, television and video industry reports, and is also a former policy manager for the Film Finance Corporation Australia and editor of Encore magazine.

Lauren Martin is a senior writer for the Sydney Morning Herald, covering arts and politics. She was formerly a finance journalist in the United States.

Bob Peters is a Director of Global Media Analysis Pty Ltd, a specialist financial and strategic consultancy to the media, entertainment, telecommunications and technology industries. He was previously a Director of Corporate Finance with the ANZ Investment Bank.

Editors

Rosemary Curtis has managed AFC Research and Information since 1990, overseeing the last five editions of Get the Picture. Between 1978 and 1988, Rosemary worked as Librarian at the Australian Film, TV and Radio School. In 2001 she received the annual Communications Research Award for outstanding contribution to communications research.

Cathy Gray is currently the Manager, Publishing and Communications at the AFC. Formerly a freelance writer and editor, she has edited the last three editions of Get the Picture and was instrumental in developing Get the Picture Online with Alison White. She has a particular interest in information design and was managing editor for the Australian Consumers’ Association, publisher of CHOICE magazine from 1988 to 1994.

Designer

Alison White has over 20 years experience in corporate and technical publishing. Her company has particular expertise in single-source publishing for print and web.
